2010 was a return to healthy rainfall, yet was a very cool season, in fact the coolest that many in Paso Robles had ever seen (although 2011 ended up being cooler still). Thankfully spring was frost free, but summer never quite arrived as we expected, with very mild conditions that lasted until October, when were blessed with excellent weather that allowed fruit to develop nicely. Crop loads were average to above average, with fruit showing good concentration, fresh acidities, and dynamic character. Not as weighty as previous vintages, but more balanced and complex across the board, with excellent tannin structure and awesome aromatics.
