A year with both quantity and quality. A slightly above average crop load thanks to excellent winter rainfall, but a cool spring that kept vine growth slow. A series of several heat spells came in early summer, which led to some vine stress and added concentration to the fruit, but then things cooled off considerably which allowed for good hang time. Overall, our vineyards were picked on the average to early side, and the wine shows depth and power but with such a beautiful sense of balance. They have and will continue to age very well.
