The second year of drought, with a warm, dry spring that set flowering off early. Summertime arrived somewhat early, nicely warm and without any heat spells, which was a blessing given the stress level already on the vines from drought. Harvest was no-pressure, with optimum weather continuing long into October. This long hang time produced a wine with extremely concentrated fruit, awesome aromatics, and potential for long term aging.
